General Information
Watch for the first signs of spring this year as 100,000 Bucks Beautiful daffodils begin to bloom all around Newtown Township this April. The bulbs, a donation from Bucks Beautiful were planted last November at Helen Randle Park, Roberts Ridge Park, Silver Lake Park and Veterans Park by Gale Nurseries, using an automated bulb planting machine at no charge to the Township. An additional 600 daffodil bulbs were planted along the woodland trails of Clark Nature Center by Cemantha Guilian’s Council Rock North Autistic support students.

The Bulbs for Bucks Program was the inspiration of Bucks Beautiful Board member Chuck Gale, to beautify Bucks County at key locations with the first splendor of spring; blooming daffodils! Chuck Gale said, “I like the idea of planting daffodils because the bulbs multiply each year, and the project is long-lasting for future generations to enjoy what we are doing now! To my knowledge, this is the largest bulb planting project in the state of Pennsylvania.” In three years Bucks Beautiful has planted over 700,000 daffodil bulbs, with a goal to plant 1 million daffodil bulbs in key locations throughout Bucks County. Bucks Beautiful is a 501(C)(3) non-profit program.
